South African artist and activist Zanele Muholi has been named the recipient of the prestigious Hasselblad Award 2026. The award ceremony will take place on Friday 9 October in Gothenburg, where Muholi will be honoured with an exhibition at the Hasselblad Center, on view from 10 October 2026 to 4 April 2027. As part of Hasselblad Award Week, Muholi will visit Moderna Museet for an artist talk. In addition, Tawanda Appiah will give a lecture inspired by Muholi’s work.
